Hi Fi Corner is one of Scotland's few Spendor loudspeaker retailers. For those of you who remember the old Spendor BC1, BBC-type hifi monitor speaker; Spendor are famous for their "clean" sound, giving amazingly accurate reproduction from an attractive box.

Spendor ST1 is a beautifully styled and finished floorstanding loudspeaker with performance and engineering beyond any previous Spendor design. It features a specially developed Spendor 18cm kevlar composite cone bass driver, a new Spendor 18cm bass-mid driver and a new wide-surround 29mm tweeter. Every engineering detail has been considered and ST1 refinements include single wiring with WBT Next-Gen terminals and super-linear 630V crossover capacitors for ultimate audio perfection. The clarity, focus, purity and dynamics of this new design are quite exceptional. The main cabinet is finished in high gloss black lacquer with complementary inlays available in a range of fine veneers as well as striking 'hi-tech' metallic materials. Spendor has indicated it will also consider requests for custom finishes and materials. UK retail price will be from £4,500 per pair depending on finish. The slim cabinet disguises a substantial 45 litre acoustic enclosure (for comparison the well known Spendor S8e is about 41 litres) which ensures deep powerful low frequency response. Spendor SA1 is simply the most musical and revealing mini-monitor loudspeaker even created by Spendor. Spendor have developed a brand new 15cm bass-mid driver with magnesium alloy chassis, advanced surround material and a new magnet system. Combined with a new 22mm wide-surround tweeter the result is a wondefully clear and natural sound with very convincing low frequency response and excellent power handling. SA1 will be offered in a range of smart modern finishes, Light Oak, Walnut, Ebony, Zebrano and Hi-gloss black lacquer. UK retail price will be £995.00 per pair for most finishes. SA1 is single wired for optimum sound quality and consistent interface with a very wide range of amplifiers and cables.
